Keeping on the Punk couture-themed Met Gala train that’s been rolling all week, I think it’s fitting we touch on a very punk-esque trend that’s hot right now – classic band T-shirts.
I firmly believe that classic rock and punk bands have stayed on the scene for so long not just because their music is killer, but also because of their iconic album covers and logos. For decades, the Stones, the Sex Pistols, The Ramones, etc. have had their band logos stamped on everything from T-shirts to sweatshirts to bags. Fashion, in many ways. keeps their music alive.
But I digress, rockers Tees are in, even with summer’s bright and airy colors. You can pair the casual shirts with any sort of bottom – shorts, skinny jeans, flared jeans, skirts, leggings — really anything. And you can make them sophisticated pending which bottoms you opt to wear.
Below, Rose McGowen pairs her Ramones Tee with very elegant bell bottoms – a classy, but still bordering edgy look.
And here’s Elle Fanning wearing a vibrantly colored pop-art Tee with the classic Rolling Stones logo. Girl is ready for summer in her long, flowy skirt while sending an ode to the British rocker greats.
